Sigmund Thun KlammDuring the late ice-age about 14.000 years ago, the valley of Kaprun was covered by a huge glacier. Slowly flowing towards the valley, the glacier cultivated the hard rocks of slate of the Maiskogel and Bürgkogel. The melted glacier left a valley indent and the Kapruner Ache runs downhill through it.

There is water in the large inside pool resort, in the Olympic pool outside and of course on the 60m waterslide. The smallest water rats can slide via the "rosiphant" in the heated paddle pond. Modern solaria guarantee an effective and gentle pre-tan and may also help out when the sun is not around.

Since April, 3rd 2004, none less than the "saltprince" Wolf Dietrich Von Raitenau guides through the newly shaped Saltworld. He tells about the "white gold" of the mountain Dürrn, and how the mystical people of the old celts were looking for it more than 2.500 years ago.
Mountain biking and bikingHardly any other area is more suitable for mountain biking than Kaprun and the Europe Sports Region. Apart of it Kaprun has the unique tradition of organizing mountain biking events. In addition our region offers a widely stretched net of biking and walking trails with a variety of different difficulty levels. There are 720 km of mountain bike trails and 220 km of biking trails.
High-mountain reservoirs of KaprunExperience nature and technique from 1.600 meters to 2.000 meters. You travel by bus, both environmental and safe, in the high-mountains. Here you will encounter how water is turned into clean and eternal renewed energy. Slide with Europe´s largest open oblique lift to the high-mountain reservoirs.

Standing 3.000 meters above everything. Spectacular views from Salzburg´s highest panoramic mountain right in the middle of the high-mountain chain and from the terraces higher than 3.000 meters.

Oldtimer-MuseumOpening of the museum was in the beginning of 1996. Young people are always astonished to see, what vehicles their grandparents and great-grandparents were driving. More than 130 different vehicles of the 50s to the 70sare exhibited on 900 sqm.
